RI Considers Private Trials for ADR

Should RI allow "private trials?" Projo says the idea of retired judges deciding civil cases in private proceedings that unfold behind closed doors is a concern to civil libertarians. “It’s a way for people to keep dirty laundry out of the court process while making full use of the court process,” says Steven Brown, executive director of the Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union.
